Artists Chris Christion and Jessica Wimbley join the faculty of 2016 California State University Summer Arts Program. The pair join Guests Artists Tom Laduke, Rebecca Campbell, and Katrina Traywick in the course CONTEMPORARY ART STUDIO: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL AS PRACTICE in the Summer Arts Visual Art/Design Program.
About the Course: From Van Gogh to On Kawara, from Rembrandt to Faith Ringgold, autobiography and exploration of the self has a long standing role in the visual arts. In this course, you will examine your own lived experience as the source, inspiration, and basis of your artistic practice.Explore your own life story and experience in your work.Work with world class artists and curators in the studio, and receive one-on-one critiques with guest artists.Develop a body of work in your own studio space in a mere two weeks! This course will culminate in exhibition of student work co-curated by students and the guest artists.
